Faculty

The majority of CPF grants involve collaboration of college of pharmacy faculty working with community pharmacists to design, implement, analyze, report and often publish the research.  This collaboration usually brings strength of the academic process to balance the busy time restraints of community pharmacy practitioners.   It also benefits each organization to establish local, regional or national relationships and often engage students and/or residents as part of the process.

Pharmacist
Practitioner

Community Pharmacy practitioners are encouraged to submit a project or research idea that adresses an unmet need to advance the CPF Mission.   Another avenue practitioners could consider is conducting a replication grant where a previously completed CPF grant is implemented in another community pharmacy practice thereby demonstrating the transferability or enhancement of CPF projects.

Residents

CPF proudly supports the APhA Foundation Incentive Grants to align resources and structure a submission and review process around residency timelines.  The CPF 2-step process can often take 5-8 months for review, approval and agreement finalization that exceeds the residency project implementation timeline.  If you feel a project scope is larger than an Incentive Grant, consider submitting an application under your faculty/practitioner organization versus as a resident project.  View the Incentive Grants Project Grid for more details.

Students

CPF is currently developing a student specific grant award process.  Please subscribe to CPF Communications for further updates.

Others

Novel community pharmacy projects and research have been submitted from other professionals, organizations or groups interested in advancing community pharmacy.  The CPF 2-step process permits interested individuals to easily submit a brief online application for Board review at any of the 4 - 5 meetings per year.
