Objectives
The purpose of this research is to identify the processes used by community pharmacists to establish excellent patient care relationships with physicians. We intend to use our results to develop training materials which promote the development of these interprofessional relationships. These tools would be developed for an audience of community pharmacist preceptors and students participating in experiential education. Specifically, we intend to develop a website which could be used by schools of pharmacy and medicine nationwide. Further research may include assessment of the impact of these relationships on specific patient outcomes.
