Unfortunately there is insufficient evidence in published literature to support the addition of clinical pharmacy services, specifically MTM, into the business of pharmacy. Financial analysis has continually shown benefit to the employer and the insurer through endeavors like the Asheville Project. With the collaboration of experienced MTM providers and independent pharmacies, the potential financial benefit can be monitored and recorded. Our goal is to prove MTM services offered by community pharmacists in three separate independent community pharmacies can benefit patients, increase store revenue, and improve patient adherence and satisfaction with pharmacy services. This financial data can provide the initiation of clinical community pharmacy consulting services to other pharmacies.
