CPF FUNDED GRANT DETAILS

Current decisions made in the NCPDP standards environment are influencing the manner inwhich pharmacy will be practiced in the future. Independent community pharmacists have been less likely to participate in the standards-setting process due to a myriad of other responsibilities. A CPF grant of 50K administered by the NCPA Foundation would help to encourage 5 or more influential independent community pharmacists to become active in the the NCPDP standards-setting process, provide an additional forum for sharing their expertise, and go far in developing mutual understanding within the pharmacy profession and throughout the healthcare system. NCPDP is an ANSI-accredited standards-development organization dedicated to maintaining balance in its consensus-building process. Enhancing the participation of independent community pharmacists in NCPDP will help to assure this balance now and in the future.
