CPF FUNDED GRANT DETAILS

This grant will help ensure that the interests of community pharmacy practice are well-represented at an October 2015 invitational consensus-seeking conference designed to advise the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education ACPE in reflecting on the 40-year history of the ACPE Continuing Pharmacy Education CPE Provider Accreditation Program, and to ensure that accredited CPE and the overall strategy of continuing professional development CPD will be well-aligned with the needs of the profession of pharmacy. In overview, the specific objectives of the conference are to: 1 assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with accredited CPE for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from a broad perspective, 2 identify best practices in accredited CPE and CPD, and 3 develop consensus about the optimal future state and roles of accredited CPE, including the role and influence of interprofessional education IPE and practice, as well as CPD, along with implications for credentialing, privileging, and pharmacist attainment of provider status.
