States Lead Effort to Let Pharmacists Prescribe Birth Control – The New York Times featured a story about groundbreaking laws in two Western states. The laws will soon make access to birth control easier for millions of women by allowing them to obtain contraceptives from pharmacists without a doctor’s prescription. The story features two pharmacists -- Beverly Schaefer, a co-owner of Katterman’s Sand Point Pharmacy in Seattle, Washington, and Stephanie Cavallo at Raley’s in Rohnert Park, California. Paving the way for the pharmacy profession!

Community Pharmacy Foundation Program Evaluation Project
The CPF synopsis of a project conducted by University of Minnesota researchers, Isetts, Olson and Schommer, was recently posted to the CPF website. The final report is pending publication submission, however, the synopsis will provide a glimpse into the findings of CPF grant funding from the 'early' to 'recent' years. The report, as well as detailed feedback from a majority of CPF grantees, will serve as the basis for the Board's January 2016 strategic planning meeting. The intent is to provide the Board an opportunity for a 'deep dive' into the findings and help guide the strategic interests for 2016 and beyond.
