Get The Medications Right (GTMR)
On May 24, 2016, Health2 Resources and Blue Thorn Inc., released a CPF-funded report titled, 'Get the Medications Right' (GTMR) which describes a nationwide snapshot of expert pharmacy practices conducting Comprehensive Medication Management (CMM) in ambulatory/community practice and the role of the clinical pharmacist providing CMMs in the community setting.
The report is based on completed responses from 618 practitioners and program directors from 45 states and Puerto Rico as well as interviews with leaders from 15 CMM practices. It offers deep insights into CMM services identifying factors contributing to – and inhibiting – practice success.
The report is available for download. Additional resources include a press release, issue brief, forecast brief, blog post and a June 29, 2016 webinar featuring Steve Simenson of Goodrich Pharmacy in Minnesota. The webinar recording will be posted to the GTMR website landing page for on-demand viewing.

Children infrequently accompany their parents to pick up their prescriptions, which limits pharmacists’
opportunities to counsel children about their medications. Even when they are present, children rarely receive counseling from pharmacists. Child-friendly, interactive materials and technology were endorsed by pharmacists, parents, and children as being a facilitator to providing medication education and counseling.
